Born of noble stock to parents who become marooned on the savage West African coast, the young Lord Greystoke is orphaned in his first year of life.       Shelly Frasier brings Burroughs's classic Tarzan adventures to life with an English boarding school style that fits the period of the story. After Lord Greystoke and Lady Alice's shipwreck and death, baby Greystoke is found by a fierce female ape, who carries him deep into the African jungle, where he grows up and learns to be Lord of the Jungle. Frasier captures Tarzan's tribal experiences with appropriate sound effects and seamless narration. She depicts Tarzan swinging through the trees and speaking guttural grunts with British-accented enunciation. Frasier's perfectly rendered delivery makes this classic well suited to long commutes. In relating ludicrous episodes, such as Tarzan's rescue of the English gentlemen, Professor Porter and Mr. Philander, there is no hint of humor or amusement.
